LOCATION: Kittery, ME

Not every backyard needs acres of space to feel like an escape — sometimes it just needs the right features in the right place. This Kittery, ME property called for a full backyard renovation centered around a custom plunge pool, tucked into a flagstone patio and framed by tall privacy fencing that turns the space into its own private world. The irregular flagstone patio sprawls from the home's rear entrance out to the pool's edge, with plenty of room left over for lounge chairs, a grill, and everyday outdoor living, while curved garden beds and a  path soften the transition into the surrounding lawn.

The challenging front slope was managed by selectively placed boulders, slab steps, and a well crafted dry-stacked retaining wall to frame the entrance without making the property feel walled in.

Our wonderful client is a professional gardener, we helped to install the major anchor plants, and she has handled the remainder of the plantings, we can’t wait to see this special space evolve in the coming seasons.
