Timelines vary based on scope. A smaller planting or hardscape project may take a few weeks, while a full design-build project, including design, permitting, and construction, can take a full season or longer.

Yes. J.L. Young Landscapes is a fully insured company. All vendors that we work with are licensed and insured. Landscaping / Masonry is not a licensed profession. 

Our focus is design and construction, but we're happy to talk through maintenance recommendations and can help connect you with trusted partners for ongoing care.

Spring and fall are popular for construction, but design and planning can start any time of year. Starting your consultation in the off-season often means an earlier spot in our build schedule.

Yes. Our design process includes detailed plans so you can see and understand the finished project before construction begins. 

All plant material installed by our team is guaranteed against defects for one growing season. This guarantee covers plant health as it relates to the quality of material installed and the workmanship of our crew. It does not extend to plants lost or damaged due to insufficient watering, improper care, drought, pest damage, acts of nature, or any other conditions outside of our control. Our team is happy to provide guidance on proper plant care to help ensure the long-term success of your landscape.

We stand behind every project we build. Our masonry installations are warranted against defects in workmanship for a period of two years from the date of substantial completion.

We use open-graded base systems and select materials suited to the demands of the New England climate. That said, natural stone and masonry products are subject to the forces of freeze-thaw cycling, soil movement, and weathering — conditions inherent to our region that fall outside the scope of this warranty.

This warranty covers defects attributable to our installation. It does not cover settling or movement resulting from conditions beyond our control, including changes in soil drainage, root intrusion, acts of nature, or modifications made by others after project completion.
